1. Acceptance of Terms

By uploading a raw DNA file or using services at DNAuncovered.com ("Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, do not use this Service.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18+ years old and legally own the DNA data you upload.

  • Prohibited in jurisdictions where genetic analysis services are restricted.

3. Service Description

  • Process: Users upload raw DNA files (e.g., 23andMe®, AncestryDNA®).

  • Output: We generate personalized reports (e.g., ancestry, traits).

  • Exclusions:

    • Not a medical service. Reports are for informational/educational purposes only.

    • Not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or diagnostic advice.

4. User Responsibilities

a) Uploaded DNA Data

  • You confirm:

    • You own or legally control the DNA data.

    • Data does not violate third-party rights.

  • Prohibited Uses:

    • Uploading DNA data of minors without legal guardianship.

    • Forensic, law enforcement, or insurance-related use.

b) Account Security

  • Keep login credentials confidential. Notify us immediately of breaches.

5. Data Handling & Ownership

a) Your Data

  • You retain ownership of your raw DNA file.

  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process data solely to provide the Service.

b) Our Practices

  • Raw DNA files are automatically deleted within 30 days of report generation.

  • Reports are stored in your account unless you delete them.

  • Aggregate/Anonymized Data: We may use non-identifiable data for research (e.g., "60% of users have Gene X").

6. Payments & Refunds

  • Fees: Service costs are listed at checkout. All payments are processed via Shopify Payments/third-party gateways.

  • Refunds:

    • Report errors verified by our team → Full refund.

    • Subjective dissatisfaction → No refund.

  • Chargebacks: May result in permanent account suspension.

7. Intellectual Property

  • You Own: Your raw DNA data and personal reports.

  • We Own: Website content, algorithms, analysis methodologies, and aggregated insights.

8. Disclaimers & Limitations of Liability

a) Service "As Is"

  • Reports are based on current scientific research and may contain inaccuracies.

  • We do not guarantee:

    • Fitness for any specific purpose.

    • Uninterrupted or error-free service.

b) Liability Cap

  • Our maximum liability is limited to fees paid in the past 6 months.

  • Excluded Damages: We are not liable for:

    • Medical, legal, or financial decisions made using reports.

    • Emotional distress from report content.

    • Third-party misuse of your data (e.g., if your account is hacked due to your negligence).

9. Termination

  • We may suspend/terminate accounts for:

    • Violations of these Terms.

    • Suspicious/fraudulent activity.

  • Upon Termination: Your reports are deleted unless legally required to retain.

10. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
